Last week I discussed the first inspirational photo shoot I painted in, which is linked here.  Inspirational photo shoots are used for magazines, wedding blogs, and pinterest boards!  They inspire brides with unusual décor and romantic ideas.

The second shoot was also at Hotel Icon, but instead of being on the rooftop, the Gatsby themed wedding was held downstairs which showed off the beautiful architecture of the facility.  The color scheme was of the Pantone color of the year, radiant orchid which coordinated well with the theme.

For me, I painted not the wedding itself, but a French styled view of the front of the hotel. I did so to illustrate how the couple can have a live event artist but not have a painting that screams, “This was my wedding”.

I also did a painting of the bride THAT DAY.  Not only did I have no idea what dress was to be used, but I had no idea what the bride would look like! I normally take six to eight hours to finish a painting, but I did it in just under two! I knew I wanted to feature the painting at the reception, which is common with my brides.  I love the finished product, especially because I didn’t have much time!
